This is day #4 in the 30 in 30 challenge hosted by Leslie Saeta. Today I painted a quick sketch of Sara a neighbor of mine. She graciously offered to sit for me a quite a while ago. I asked her just to sit and read a book so I could paint. She is beautiful and has the most gorgeous hair…what a joy to paint! I have several resource photos from the sitting.
Below is the sketch I did of her before I started the painting.
I am thoroughly enjoying this challenge.
Love the skin colors in this one! - and of course always a treat to see the sketch, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful … you captured the movement in her hair and it really gives this portrait life.
ReplyDeleteWonderful face and expression. Terrific sketch, too!
ReplyDeleteFrom the strands of hair on her face to the beautiful skin tones, and her gaze at her reading matter, I think you have captured a beauriful portrait of Sara.
ReplyDeleteFrom the strands of her failling forward to those beautiful skin tobes and Sara's gaze toward her book with a focussed expression,I think you have captured your neighbor beautifully.
