Chris Werst - Hilton Head Mug Shot Challenge Continues

Chris Werst
6 x 6
Oil on Raymar panel

The Hilton Head Mug challenge continues with Chris Werst.

Here is Wanda's write up...

Another long time and well connected member of the Hilton Head felons is on the loose.  Chris “The Moniker” Werst resides in the same city as two other known perps including the nefarious leader “Quickdraw” Jurick and has been observed presenting her with gifts.  (The fact that the shawl was orange, a symbol of luxury and splendor, is highly suspicious.)  We also know she is quite cozy with a member of the international banking branch of the gang, not surprising since she herself is well versed in the global account management world.  With this kind of background one would expect her to drive a Porsche or Ferrari but she has cleverly decided to blend in with the locals by driving a station wagon.  However, do not be fooled by appearances as our intel suggests she is a world traveller.
“The Moniker” is a founding member of the elite splinter group, the Hilton Head 4, and continues to contribute to their rather shady activities.  She has immortalized parrots, puppies, and people from Paris in paint (NB. Actually it was seagulls not parrots but I digress…).  She has been seen combing the beaches in Hilton Head in search of victims and, with the Hilton Head 4, has co-hosted at least one large (and successful) gathering of felonious felons.  This is a dangerous woman indeed!

Kelly with one "E"

Kelly with one "E"
6 x 6
Oil on Raymar panel

Does anyone remember the movie "If It's Tuesday...This must be Belgium???"  That what I thought of when I got ready to post the next installment in my 30 in 30 series.  I thought...where am I ...what am I posting today..what day is it???  It is a blurry challenge but a fun blur!

When I think of names I always think of letters...what letters are in the name...is there an extra e and extra i or maybe a y instead of ie.  It always makes me wonder.  I remember growing up my mom would  say her name "Lucile with one "L" and Bennett two "n's" and two "t's".  Maybe that is why I am always looking for the letters.  That is why this is Kelly with one "E".   Kelly is an artist I met on facebook and find her to be not only a wonderful artist...check out her blog here...but also a wonderfully supportive friend.  I have always have a bit of a phobia about painting teeth...well...Kelly helped me with that too!!!  Such a big smile!

OK...day 6 is done...on to day 7!!!  And don't forget to check out all the 30 in 30 artwork on Leslie Saeta's Blog!

Brenda - Hilton Head Mug 2012

Brenda
4 x 4
Oil on Board
$75

Brenda attended the Karin Jurick workshop on Hilton Head Island and was a delightfully colorful character.  Her trademark round and square glasses were so fun...I think she has them in every color.

Continuing with the Hilton Head mug shot paintings here is Wanda Rottenfusser's story...

We got a call from a citizen in distress in Kentucky who needs our help.  It appears she (and others) have been shot with a new canon (50D to be exact).  She survived the assault and identified the perpetrator as Brenda "The Designer" Pruitt.  This woman may look harmless and tries to convince people she spends her time painting her grandchildren and redecorating interiors.  However, she is not to be trifled with.  This woman knows where the bodies are buried (at least her husband does).  She must be apprehended asap to keep others from being victimized.  We need likenesses to post on the internet to alert the public.  Your assistance is appreciated.

Hilton Head Gang Week 10

Now were are in double digits...week 10... in the search for the Hilton Head Gang members.  This scandalous group of artists is still on the lam.  These mugs from the Karin Jurick workshop and have been painting...blogging and showing their artwork at the Sedona Arts Center in a fabulous show “A Sense of Place” beginning January 25th.  If you are in the Sedona  area stop by to see if you can find any clues to their whereabouts.  This week we are featuring:

4 x 4 Oil on Board

Betsy “Eagle Eye” Stevenson who is deceptively innocent looking.  She is a frequent world traveler who has been know to shoot in Italy and France as well as throughout the United States.   Along with being an expert shot our sources say she may well just set up an easel and capture images on site.  Beware of easels in the field...easels on the beach...beware!
She may very well be a follower of Regula AKA Babyface...we don’t really know.  What we do know is she is armed with a SLR and dangerous to those who don’t want to be immortalized on canvas.

Hilton Head Gang Week 7

We have reached week 7 of the search for the notorious Hilton Head Gang members.  The Hilton Head Gang is a group of elusive artists who attended Karin Jurick's workshop on Hilton Head Island.  I will feature one member of the group each week until they are all accounted for...(I always hear the theme to Mission Impossible in my head when I start the Hilton Head Gang emails...)
Roxanne “The Streak” Duke is so named because she is stealthy.  She streaks by and shoots at will and disappears before detected by unsuspecting victims.  Roxanne flies under the radar...finding a photo of her was not east...we had to scour the internet, check past files and canvas neighborhoods just to find this one.  We don’t know when the photo was taken...her look may have changed.  scrutinize everyone you see...
For more information about Roxanne check out her blog at:
