What cha readin'

I call this "What cha readin."  It is another 8 x 8 panel from the karin Jurick workshop I just attended.  While out taking my pictures and trying to act casual ;), I saw this lady checking to see if there were real words in the book on this bronze statue.  I couldn't believe my good fortune when she stayed put until I got the shot!  During the workshop Karin discussed placement and colors.  I was a little worried about cutting off the lady's feet, but I think it works. Karin is so very generous with her knowledge and suggestions.  If asked...she offers her opinion...and then praises your work.

I am anxious to get back to my easel and paint but first I have another workshop to attend.  Dreama Tolle Perry is teaching in Lexington Kentucky and I am so very excited to learn more!  I have the good fortune to go on a road trip with 3 artist friends...So much to learn...so little time!

  5. I think you did a wonderful painting here. I've always liked how KJ crops off the heads or the feet. She's fearless and I think you are too.
